CEREC (R) (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) enables porcelain ceramic material to be produced easily while you wait. A CEREC filling can be done in one appointment. No more uncomfortable impression rays full of goop in your mouth. No more plastic temporaries in your mouth while you wait for laboratory work to be completed; a process which can take weeks and a series of dental appointments. CEREC means the filling is completed in one visit.

Here’s how CEREC works

After examining the tooth and determining the course of treatment, we will prepare your existing tooth for the filling leaving as much of your healthy tooth as possible. Cerec then uses a state-of-the-art digital 3D camera to create a virtual model of your tooth on the computer screen. The ceramic filling is then designed using state-of-the-art CAD software which allows us to customize the shape and detail it to fit exactly.

Mill and Place

While you wait, the virtual filling is then transferred into reality. A ceramic block is inserted into our on-site milling unit and automatically machined to exact design specifications. About 15 minutes later, your all-ceramic, colour-matched filling is ready for placement. After polishing the filling, it looks and feels like a part of your natural tooth.

The filling is then stuck into place and your tooth is returned to its natural form, function and beauty.
