Dental IV Sedation

A unique service we offer is a monthly IV Sedation list. Our visiting anaesthetist spends one day a month with us at the surgery and offers IV Sedation to patients requiring complex treatment like wisdom teeth extractions.

The anaesthetist manages the patient’s consciousness in a twilight sedation, allowing us to perform the dental treatment completely free of pain.

Patients need to be driven home afterwards and monitored at home for 24 hours after the treatment.

All treatment by our anaesthetist is claimable through Medicare, with 80% of the cost covered if patients reach the Medicare Safety Net. This is a more affordable and less invasive alternative to treatment being completed under a general anaesthetic in hospital by a specialist
